The Difference Between Plastic Color And Baking Paint Color

The color of our kids ride on cars usually has two configurations: plastic color and baking paint color. What is the difference between the two spray painting technologies?

Firstly their working principle is different.Baking paint is an industrial paint, which is divided into water-based metallic paint and oily metallic paint.Water-based metallic paint is an environmentally friendly paint with water as a solvent, while oil-based metallic paint is an organic solvent.  The method is to roughly grind the material, spray some paint, and bake it at high temperature.  At present, this process has high requirements for paint and good color rendering.  Spray molding is a surface treatment method in which powder is applied to parts.  Spraying is what we often call electrostatic powder spraying, which is a relatively common decoration technology for metal surface treatment in the world since the 1980s.

Secondly the advantages of these two are different.The baking paint is not sticky, the coating is not easy to bond with other substances, and the coating film also shows good adhesion performance. In addition, the coating is heat-resistant and has low friction.It has good wear resistance under high load, and has the dual advantages of wear resistance and non-bonding under certain load. Baking varnish is not easily attacked by drugs and can protect parts from any kind of chemical corrosion.No thinner is required for spraying, and the construction is non-polluting to the environment and non-toxic to the human body.  The coating has excellent appearance, strong adhesion, high mechanical strength, short spraying construction time, much higher wear resistance and no need for primer.Some construction sites have clearly indicated that electrostatic spraying technology should be used. During electrostatic spraying, there will be no common flow phenomenon during the spraying process.

The last point is that the appearance hardness is different.Compared with baking paint, spray paint has higher coating hardness and adhesion, and baking paint has better appearance brightness. Both of them are used for appearance protection, but not only ordinary baking paint with high appearance requirements, but also high-grade metal plastic powder can be used to make the appearance of cars. The other two kinds of pretreatment are also different. Generally, baking paint can increase the adhesion of the coating and improve the corrosion resistance through acid pickling and phosphating, while spraying only needs rust removal.

Back to our kids ride on car products, is it better for the toy cars to have injection molding color or baking paint color? In fact, they have their own advantages. The baking paint looks more realistic. The surface has a real car effect. Polishing is the plastic we see. However, baking paint is easy to fall off , while plastic paint is not.
